Amazon Compliance Operations ensures that every product and service provided by Amazon Consumer division meets compliance and safety policies as defined by External Regulators and Amazon Policies. We perform activities such as product classification, both independent and assisted by technology such as Machine Learning, compliance documents reviews, syntax authoring, Selling Partner issue resolution, and quality audits. Via these actions, we coordinate transactions that are regulated such as storage, shipping, sale, and import/export.
We are looking for a talented Compliance Manager for our team in Amman, to support our rapidly growing and evolving businesses. The Manager will support the business by managing compliance associates and specialists working on product compliance reviews. The role will work directly with Program Teams, Retail teams, Legal, and a variety of global internal businesses and outside vendors to drive operational goals related to product compliance across the supply chain. The position is responsible for supporting Amazon’s worldwide compliance program primarily focusing on Middle East regulatory requirements.
Key job responsibilities
As a Compliance Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
You directly manage a team of up to 20 Senior Compliance Associates and/or Process Experts which perform compliance operations processes. As first-line manager, you are responsible for your team’s performance and development and you are accountable for the experience of the employees that report to you.
You manage your team’s performance with Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and you conduct performance reviews for your team in accordance with Amazon’s people management standards and guidelines. You support attracting talent and you actively participate in recruiting processes. You demonstrate a good understanding of Amazon Leadership Principles and you apply them effectively.
You may partner with other managers, internal stakeholders and customers to onboard new initiatives or conduct improvement initiatives on existing processes. You manage operations at the team level and you plan daily team activities (e.g. allocation of work, trainings, team meetings, etc.) to ensure the work of your team aligns with organizational goals.
You have a solid understanding over team key process indicators and you are able to address negative variations via root-cause analysis and preventive and corrective actions. You have a solid understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workflows that apply to the daily work of your team.
You are able to respond to operational escalations, analyse data-sets and prepare action plans. You take the time to learn about operational trends and gaps, and you prepare data for business reviews. You proactively communicate priorities and project statuses to your internal customers and stakeholders. You ensure your team is aware of how decisions are made and are notified about changes.
