Follow up with the line manager to determine the main types of merchandise that will be needed in the short or long term based on the pre-prepared program of the department’s procedures, and use this to conduct regular market assessments about the best sources and prices.

Assisting the procurement manager in making sure of the suppliers’ abilities to fulfill the requirements of purchase orders, requests for quotations, and materials survey, before being approved, i.e. assistance in evaluating suppliers.
Communicate with the supplier to make a return request in case the materials do not match and work to re-evaluate the supplier.
Evaluation of new suppliers for approval or rejection.
Properly update procurement data for record keeping and auditing, and maintain organized files for active requests and subsequent activities such as change notices, changes in schedules and sudden requests.
Maintaining an up-to-date list of approved suppliers with information about goods, with performance rating according to the procedures adopted within the company.
Produce a periodic evaluation report on the supplier’s performance with recommendations based on the delivery follow-up record (on a semi-annual basis at least).
Tracking the status of each purchase order and informing the line manager of updates through regular procurement status reports.
Training individuals working in the Procurement Department on their work and transferring his experience to them so that they are qualified to replace him in the event of a vacancy in the position.
Provide professional coverage to other employees when the workload requires that or absence, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Assist in promoting the use of new technologies to improve the efficiency of the procurement process.
